Intercultural Youth Micro-grants Service Corps (IYMSCorps)

IYMSCORPS IS A FREE PROGRAM that allows youth to gain valuable foundational and transferable skills through designing youth-led and youth-driven community engagement projects. Participants can receive a microgrant of $1000, $2500, $3000 to create their own community engagement projects.

Intercultural Youth Service Corps (IYSCorps)

IYSCORPS IS A FREE 17-WEEK PROGRAM that allows youth living in British Columbia to enhance their skills and gain access to more career opportunities and promote civic engagement. It is a community needs-driven, skills enhancement, and volunteer program that adopts an all-encompassing approach to empower youth throughout BC, offering a diverse array of enriching activities.

IRCC Settlement & Integration Program

The Settlement Program works with the eligible immigrant population to address the transitional issues faced by them and assists them overcome the barriers arising out of lack of necessary skills and/or limited knowledge about Canada. The program aims at ensuring adequate participation by the immigrants in social, cultural, civic and economic life in Canada.

English for the Workplace

English Conversation Circle Program provides Free English classes for newcomers, citizens, refugee claimants and work permit holders. Participants learn about the Canadian work culture such as resume writing, cover letter, job search, interview skills and work expectations.

Childcare

The PICS Childcare Cloverdale Centre follows a play-based, child focused, emergent curriculum model. Activities and materials are chosen by the children and teachers to reflect the children’s interests and developmental goals.

Youth Trade Builders

The Youth Trade Builder is a FREE program funded by the Ministry of Post Secondary Education and Future Skills which is intended to increase the labour force participation of young adults aged 16-29, who are generally employment ready.

Youth Career and Business Builders

The Program is designed to support Participants over the weeks by exploring different programs, taking assessments and ultimately choosing a career path in developing and implementing an Occupational Training Plan and successfully completing the training and certification required to attain meaningful, sustainable employment or training.

Fitness and Mentorship Program for Youth (FAME)

FAME will help Surrey youth develop and implement health and fitness action plans to improve their physical and mental health, while at the same time, teaching them the skills to get SMART goals to plan for future success.

Surrey Anti-Gang Family Empowerment (SAFE)

SAFE is an evidence‑based, multi-agency program designed to address and prevent youth gang violence. SAFE programs support children and youth to divert them from pathways to gang involvement.

Progressive Data

Employment & Settlement Support for People with Disabilities

The PICS Settlement Department provides customized and individualized job search-related support for immigrants with disabilities. It aims to assist eligible clients to prepare for, obtain and maintain employment by overcoming barriers and challenges when entering the Canadian labor market.

Youth Employment Support Services (YES²) Program

YES² Employment Program that you to gain skills to become job ready by learning about topics such as leadership, time management, effective job search tools and techniques, financial literacy, and problem-solving skills!

RBC Helping Youth Preparing for Employment (HYPE) Program

The Youth Resource Hub provides employment services via one on one workshops, academic coaching and networking opportunities. Youth between the ages of 13-29 are welcome to drop-in and take advantage of the friendly ambiance, access to computers, WiFi and other amenities.

Intercultural Digital Hospitality Skills Accelerator Training Program

The program provides foundational and functional digital skills to individuals seeking employment opportunities or transitioning to employment in digital hospitality industry. This program is for anyone who is 19 years and plus and open for all categories which means anyone can join and open for PR, Canadian citizen, refugee protected, open work permit or on valid study visa. Classes will be online and course is for 9 weeks which includes employment support.

Financial Literacy

For over 75 years, Vancity has been working to build a clean and fair world where members and communities can thrive. That means addressing systemic barriers to ensure access to financial services and financial literacy for all. In partnership with PICS and equipped with courses and tools developed by our financial experts, PICS is delivering culturally relevant workshops to our communities. We believe the community-based model for learning will create meaningful and safe programs that speak to the unique needs of different groups.

Intercultural Motivating Change through Peer Employment (I M Change) Program

The I M Change program is a flexibly designed project intended to provide skills training to people at risk of homelessness or experiencing homelessness, who are unemployed or precariously employed, targeting the community needs for peer employment.

PICS Income Tax Clininc

Through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP), PICS host free tax clinic where volunteers complete tax returns for people with a modest income and a simple tax situation.

Skills for Success Survey Project

Skills for Success are the foundational skills we use in working, learning, and daily life. They help us adapt to change, learn other new skills, and thrive in daily life. They help us to get a job, progress at our current job or change jobs.

PICS Youth Advisory Council (PYAC)

As a PYAC member, you will actively shape and advise youth programs and initiatives at PICS, providing invaluable perspectives to ensure these programs align with the diverse needs and aspirations of our PICS and youth.
