Surrey Intercultural Youth Service Corps Project (IYSCorps)

About IYSCorps Program

PICS Society’s unique and exciting SIYSCorps program brings together a diverse group of motivated youth wanting to gain volunteer experience in their areas of interest. We provide valuable leadership training, community engagement skills and volunteer placements, so that youth can build community connections and prepare to enter into the work force. Training provided will include job search skills, resume building, financial literacy and essential life skills that will help youth gain valuable experience in community engagement and enhancing employment opportunities.

  • Accumulate valuable volunteer hours for graduation
  • Resume, Cover Letter and Life Skills training
  • Design your own community project and receive a microgrant of $1,000 or $1,500 in funding.
  • Certificate and reference letters available at program completion
  • Graduation ceremony
  • Bus Passes
  • Virtual Sessions

Individuals encouraged to apply

  • ESingle parents/persons with low income
  • ESelf-identified as disabled
  • EPerson(s) with multiple barriers
  • EIndigenous

Eligibility Criteria

Immigration Status + Current resident of BC

  • Canadian Citizen
  • Permanent Resident
  • Refugee with Court Notice of Decision


  • Youth Aged 15-30

*1 item from each category must be met to be eligible
