PICS New Board Member Announcement

Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society is thrilled to announce the appointment of Amar Sidhu to its Board. Amar Sidhu is the Assistant Vice-President, Commercial Banking for Envision Financial, a division of First West Credit Union, and brings more than 16 years of experience in the financial services industry. Amar leads 21 branches and four major centres in Surrey/Delta, Langley, Abbotsford and Chilliwack. Amar is currently on the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley.             (Amar Sidhu, Board Member, PICS Society) Amar joins the current board members who are accomplished professionals in their diverse careers. Paul Resham Dosanjh (President) has over 30 years of operations management experience in retail business including sales, financial management and human resources. Creating culturally sensitive care homes

CBC Radio One visited our Guru Nanak Niwas Assisted Living facility in Surrey to see how culturally sensitive care homes matter today. By now you've heard the news, Canada's population is aging. Recent numbers from Statistics Canada show that for the first time seniors outnumber children under the age of 14. PICS Spring Garden Gala, a Resounding Success

PICS annual fundraising event, The Spring Garden Gala to raise funds for PICS Diversity Village, a complex care home to be built in Cloverdale was a resounding success with the Society raising upwards of $150,000 at the event.

Director of Employment programs and Planning, Satbir Singh Cheema has been selected as the new Chief Executive Officer of PICS Mr. Cheema was selected through an open competition process spearheaded by a recruiting firm hired by PICS.

PICS Women's Committee celebrated International Women's Day with women of PICS Harmony House. There was a pizza party and the committee brought in groceries and other necessities as well.

10 years and going strong!

Congratulations to our staff at PICS who have completed 10 years of service at our Assisted Living facility. PICS Assisted Living facility scored the highest rate of satisfaction in a survey conducted by Fraser Health Region recently and the credit certainly goes to our excellent staff.
