Director of Care

Rajeev has been part of PICS Society since 2006, (18 years) working as Director of Care at the Seniors Housing Facilities. Rajeev’s management experience spans over twenty years including daily operations, recruitment, training, policy developments and evaluation, reviewing programs and services, conflict resolution mediation and counseling. Rajeev has worked in the field of human services, heath care, social work and education. He has worked for non-profit organizations, as well as for the government social services departments, both in Canada and in the UK. His work experience includes ageing services, mental health, geriatric care, physical and developmental disabilities, adult day care, and housing for women fleeing domestic violence. Over the years, he has worked in community social services, hospital social work, crisis intervention, day programs, including mental health, dementia and ethnic services, residential and nursing care and assisted living. He has been instrumental in creating two adult day programs in the UK, including one specifically catering to the needs of patients suffering with Alzheimer’s disease and the other for the South Asian population. He has also played a significant role in setting up of the assisted living and the current adult day program at the senior’s care facilities location.

Rajeev has been social work educator/mentor affiliated with various universities and has mentored over 2000 students from various disciplines including Care Aids, LPN, Activity Workers, Social Work Students, Gerontology students, (including international students) accounting, finance, HR and business studies students. Rajeev has also worked as guest lecturer for the University of Fraser valley.

Education

Rajeev holds a Master’s in Business Administration (Health Care Management) from California USA, Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, BC, Canada, Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BA, Hons) from Buckinghamshire University in UK, Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, Diploma in Management Studies, Diploma in Business & Finance, Diploma in Information Technology, Diploma in Counseling and Post Qualifying Diploma in Social Work Education. Rajeev also completed his certification from SFU to be an Osteo-fit Trainer for seniors. Rajeev has participated in over 1000 training/educational sessions covering various aspects of health care, social work, seniors care, community work, policy development, leadership, projects and operations management. Rajeev is registered with BC College of Social Work and General Social Care Council UK.

Rajeev has been on various boards and committees including Best Practice & Innovation, BC council to Reduce Elder Abuse, Surrey Housing and Homeless Task force, Grater Vancouver Shelter Strategy, Graduate Senate Committee (UFV).
