This Program provides free comprehensive employment support services in British Columbia for unemployed individuals over 16. Offering resources such as job search assistance, workshops on various employment-related topics, and one-on-one counseling, this program is dedicated to helping residents legally able to work in Canada find suitable employment.

Employment Resource Centre – Self Serve

  • Job search assistance and supports
  • Workshops on job search related topics: Setting Your Job Search Strategies; Resumes; Cover letters; The Hidden Job Market/Networking; Interview Skills; and others
  • Employment/Career Advisor available
  • Computers, Internet, free wi-fi, phone, faxing, photocopier, scanner, MS Office
  • Job postings and community resources
  • Newspapers, business magazines, extensive job search/career planning resource library

Case Management Services

  • One on one employment counselling
  • Help with job search, career planning and accessing community resources.
  • Employment/Career Advisor available
  • Possible government funding for: short term industry training; longer-term, career related training; wage subsidy; self-employment

Eligibility Criteria

Immigration Status + Current resident of BC

  • Canadian Citizen
  • Permanent Resident
  • Refugee with Court Notice of Decision

Employment Status

  • Unemployed

Age

  • Age of 16 or above

Other

  • Must not be attending regular full-time School

*1 item from each category must be met to be eligible
