With 28 years of experience in coordinating, instructing and managing programs & projects, highly qualified trainer, Developer, Manager, Facilitator and Communicator with a Masters degree in Education (Leadership & Curriculum Development) from Simon Fraser University, TESOL Diploma from Vancouver Community College and a second Masters in English Literature and an Undergrad degree with Honors in Political Science with minor in Economics and English; Devinder taught English as a Second language Instructor at Thomson Rivers University and since 1995 she has been working at PICS in many different capacities till now as a Senior Director.
Equipped with motivational and exceptional leadership qualities; 25 years experience in creating and coordinating community partnerships in different communities and municipalities for various programs and projects and partnerships within the non-profit sector, private and public sector, Settlement Program providers, Public Legal Education agencies, Youth programs in many communities around Lower Mainland and on national spectrum.
Devinder has been bestowed with the Surrey Board of Trade’s Leadership Award for Women in Business of the Year in Non-Profit Sector in 2021 and has been selected as one of the members of the Minister’s Advisory Committee for the Ministry of Families and Children with Support Needs in 2022. She has been nominated to be on many provincial and federal-level committees and working groups. She played a role of an influential member on the City of Surrey’s Social Policy Advisory Committee and on Poverty Reduction Working groups for many years. She has been serving as a member on Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Career Development and Academic Advisory Committee from 2019 till now.
Devinder Chattha has been nominated to be on AMSSA’S IICC Steering Committee for the second time now and served on AMSSA Board of Directors for many years.
