What is Better at Home?

Better at Home is a program designed to help seniors live in their own homes by providing non-medical support services delivered by local non-profit organizations, such as Progressive Intercultural Community Services Society. Better at Home is a province-wide program, managed by United Way of the Lower Mainland through funding received from the Government of British Columbia. The program will be available in up to 68 sites throughout BC.

Surrey – Whalley Better at Home

This service provides non-medical home support services for older adults, who live independently, in Surrey-Whalley area. While some services might be offered for free, most Better at Home services are provided on a fee-for-service basis. Services are offered on a sliding scale based on income level and vary depending on the unique needs of local seniors. Better at Home services are delivered through a pool of selected volunteers, who have undergone criminal record checks and have a clean driving record.

  • Transportation
  • Light Housekeeping
  • Grocery Shopping
  • Friendly Visiting
