Harmony house

About Harmony House

Harmony House is a second stage transition home for women providing women and their children with a shelter that is safe, secure, and provides an opportunity to them to heal and nurture in a culturally sensitive, linguistically accessible and healing environment. In Harmony House, residents receive an array of services to support their empowerment and goals of integrating in the society safely at their own pace. They learn life skills, get assistance with employment search, learn about budgeting on their own and learn English language to enhance their capacity of leading their lives to the best of their potential. Aside from measurable services, these women receive emotional support and advocacy from PICS and our community partners.

Because of its connection to the head office, residents of Harmony House have an easier access to our other services such as: language classes, women’s health clinic, employment programs, settlement and integration services, and training programs. Harmony House is uniquely positioned at an advantage to provide support to immigrant and refugee women. Our approach to empower women is rooted in honoring their immigrant and refugee experiences as we work with them with a trauma informed perspective. Women get an opportunity to experience the dynamic and multi- ethnic fabric of the Canadian society where they enjoy a reciprocal process of sharing their cultural wisdom with each other.
