The Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants Project provides customized services for upto 22 months to assist skilled immigrants with experience in Sales and Service occupations (Corporate Sales Management, Retail and Wholesale Trade Management, and Restaurant and Food Service Management) to obtain employment in their specialized field.

Program Eligibility

To be eligible for this opportunity, you must be:

  • A Permanent Resident of Canada, no more than five (5) years
  • A person who is awaiting PR Status, per confirmation letter from IRCC

OR

Convention refugee and protected person outside Canada who have been selected for resettlement in Canada by IRCC.

  • Minimum CLB 6 (Intermediate to Advanced English)
  • Underemployed or unemployed
  • Not receiving EI or BCEA
  • Three (3) years’ pre-arrival experience in the fields of Sales and Service (one year if 19-30 years of age)

Program Features

  • Career Action Planning
  • Occupational Specific Language Training (OSLT) Assessment, and Training
  • Foreign Credential Evaluation, if needed
  • Financial support for Skills Enhancement Services (e.g. technical skills and academic upgrading, exam preparation, professional membership and recognition)
  • Networking with professionals, employers and regulators
  • Job search assistance
  • Practicum and mentorship opportunities
