About IYES Program
The Intercultural Youth Employment Support Program (IYES), funded by the Government of Canada, is a fully paid initiative designed to help young people build confidence, gain valuable skills, and find real job opportunities. Registration is now open for the first cohort starting May 5, 2025.
Program Benefits
- Fully Paid Program – Participants will receive minimum wage for 10 weeks.

- 4 Weeks of Employment Skills Training – Including resume writing, interview preparation, teamwork, and leadership.
- 6 Weeks of Paid Work Experience – Earn while gaining valuable job experience.
- One-on-One Career Coaching and Mentorship – Personalized support to keep you motivated and on track.
- Free Certifications – Get certified in Emergency First Aid, Food Safe Level 1, SuperHost, and Customer Service Fundamentals.
- Support Services – Transit passes, childcare assistance, and a completion bonus are available.
Eligibility Criteria
Immigration Status
- Canadian citizens
- Permanent Residents
- Refugee Status and legally entitled to work in Canada
Other
- Youth aged 15 to 30 years old. Not currently working or attending school.
- Facing challenges finding or maintaining employment.
- Open to all eligible youth, with a focus on supporting individuals who are Indigenous, racialized, newcomers, 2SLGBTQI+, or living with a disability.
