Nimmi Daula

Nimmi Daula is a dynamic leader, community advocate, and dedicated educator whose journey from a background in horticulture to prominent roles in media, education, and community service reflects her unwavering commitment to making a positive impact.
Originally from India, Nimmi earned her Master’s degree in Horticulture from Punjab Agricultural University in 1998, laying the foundation for her diverse career path. Immigrating to Canada approximately 25 years ago, Nimmi embraced the opportunities the country offered, immersing herself in various roles to support herself and her family.
Nimmi’s professional journey spans across different industries, showcasing her adaptability and resilience. For 13 years, she made significant contributions to the media landscape as the General Manager of KRPI Radio AM1550, where she directed all aspects of station operations, led a team of media professionals, and developed strategic plans to increase listenership and brand awareness.
Driven by a desire to effect positive change at a systemic level, Nimmi transitioned into the realm of education and community leadership. In 2022, she was elected as a School Board Trustee in Delta, British Columbia, where she advocates for equitable access to quality education and support services for all students. Collaborating with fellow trustees, educators, parents, and community members, Nimmi develops and implements policies to enhance student success and well-being.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Nimmi is actively involved in community service and leadership. As President of the Rotary Club of Surrey-Newton for the term 2023-24 and an active member, she spearheads initiatives aimed at addressing community needs and fostering positive change. Her leadership and dedication were recognized when she received the Rotary District Governor’s People of Action Award, celebrating her impact and service within the community.
Her commitment to service has been recognized with the Certificate of Exemplary Service to the Community in Honour of the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Hon. Carla Qualtrough, MP for Delta in 2022.
Fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, Nimmi’s dedication to service and leadership underscores her belief in building a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous society for all. She remains steadfast in her commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others, exemplifying the values of resilience, compassion, and service.
