Temporary Migrant Worker Support Program
This program is funded by the Government of Canada’s Migrant Worker Support Network. Our goal is to serve temporary migrant workers in British Columbia by providing the support and information they need in order to improve their living and working experience during their stay in Canada, while increasing worker and employer awareness and understanding of the migrant workers’ needs, challenges and issues around emergency situations related and non-related to COVID-19.
Services we offer:
- Support for migrant workers during emergency situations (COVID and non COVID related)
- English language training and conversation sessions
- Awareness workshops to improve understanding of rights and responsibilities of migrant workers
- Need based interpretation services
- Need based translation and interpretation services
- Transportation support
- Information sessions
- Support and orientation to employers regarding new provincial regulations for hiring temporary foreign workers
- Cultural events to foster inclusion and welcoming in Canadian society
Program Eligibility:
- Foreign citizen working in Canada with a temporary work permit (SAWP, Agricultural Stream, Low-wage stream, High-wage stream, Caregivers)
- Canadian Employers of Temporary Foreign Workers
