SETTLEMENT and INTEGRATION PROGRAM

PICS Settlement department has been providing free services under the Settlement and Integration Program since 2002. Over this time, we have acquired an expertise in dealing with settlement and integration issues and engaging with the community – this department serves eligible clientele from Surrey, North Delta and White Rock through funding by federal government and the province of BC.

Our settlement team has over 60 years of combined experience in the field and is committed to serving with the respect, dignity and professionalism everyone deserves. We pride ourselves in being able to serve clients in English, Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi, Dari, Farsi, Arabic and Pashto.

The Settlement Program works with the eligible immigrant population to address the transitional issues faced by them and assists them overcome the barriers arising out of lack of necessary skills and/or limited knowledge about Canada. The program aims at ensuring adequate participation by the immigrants in social, cultural, civic and economic life in Canada. Our services focus on a full range of support activities that involve: orientation, access to services, settlement counselling, referrals, training, guidance, mentoring and service bridging, among others.

Access

The program can be accessed by phone, email or personal visit to the location. The order of acceptance is first come first serve basis by appointment and/or by walking in and prioritized on the basis of urgency and staff availability.

There is no fee for any of the services provided.

The PICS Settlement Department provides customized and individualized job search related support for immigrants with disabilities. It aims to assist eligible clients to prepare for, obtain and maintain employment by overcoming barriers and challenges when entering the Canadian labor market.
