Greenhouse Production Technician Social Innovation

This project is a 24-week Project-Based Horticulture Education and Training Program. Participants will receive occupational, employability skills training, and work experience related to greenhouse work.

Upon completion of the training program and work experience, participants will be certified by PICS and Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and will be supported towards full-time employment that evidences their competency.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits or Reachback, have had a EI Benefit within the previous 60 months or have earned more than $2000 in insurable earnings and have paid Employee EI premiums on those earnings in at least 5 of the last 10 years (Note: the 5 years do not have to be consecutive years)
  • Must be PR, Citizen, Protected Refugee (with court’s decision).
  • LINC Level 5 and Up
  • Essential Skills Numeracy Level 4
  • Referred by a WorkBC Centre with an Action Plan
