Intercultural Mindset for Youngpreneurs (I-MY)
I-My is a 22-week program that provides local youth between the ages of 15 and 29, group-based employability skills training, business concepts training, and job shadowing. Funded by Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training, the model consists of three interventions:
4 weeks of group-based Employment Skills and Business Concepts training – 30 hrs./week including Digital Literacy, Numeracy, Resume, Cover Letter and Interview skills, Business Planning, Operations, Marketing, Finance and Sales
1 week of Short Term Occupational Certification– OFA Level 1, Diversity and Inclusion Training, Food Safe 1, SuperHost and Business Seminars
12 weeks of Business Management & Entrepreneurial Mindset Training– including Business planning, Small Business Management, Principles of Marketing, etc.
5 weeks of Business Consultation, Mentoring and Job Shadowing
The Intercultural Mindset for Youngpreneurs (I-My) Program is intended to empower youth with self-employment mindset training, skills and network based on the principles of entrepreneurship to advance young leaders in any field.
Eligibility requirements include:
Youth ages 15-29
Canadian Citizen/PR/Refugee/Protected Person
Must have full time availability (Unemployed/precariously employed, not in school FT)
Resides in Metro Vancouver
Has interest in starting or growing their own business
*Daily stipend and completion bonus is also provided ($1000)
