Trade Starters for Equity Deserving Groups Training Project
Fully Government funded Trades Starter Training Program aims to address the under- representation of certain demographics in SkilledTradesBC-recognized trades by providing comprehensive pre-apprenticeship training and skill development. The program targets individuals who face barriers to entering the workforce, offering them opportunities to obtain sustainable employment, skilled trades positions, or apprenticeships within their communities or across the province.

Online Employability & Soft Skills Training – by PICS Society
May 25 to June 5, 2026 (2 weeks)
9:30 AM – 12:30 PM Monday to Friday
In-Person Technical Training – at Vancouver Community College – Broadway Campus
June 8 to August 14, 2026 (10 weeks)
9:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday to Friday
Online Employability & Soft Skills Training – by PICS Society
August 17 to September 11, 2026 (4 weeks)
9:30 AM – 12:30 PM Monday to Friday

- Unemployed, multi-barriered Job seeker individual

- Not receiving duplicative financial supports from another provincially or federally funded labour market program, though may be receiving complementary, non- duplicative financial supports from other programs, such as WorkBC, that enable or enhance program participation
