Devinder Chattha, Director of PICS Language, Settlement and Social Programs was recently honored by Enacting resilience project team at Surrey Library recently where a forum was conducted to share some of the finding of the project. A University of BC Project and supported by Public Safety, Canada and Peter A Allard School of Law, the Enacting Resilience project was conceived to focus on the idea of resilience in Punjabi communities and is centred around the government of Canada’s counter terrorism strategy in an effort to make BC communities safer. PICS and particularly Devinder played a crucial role in connecting project managers to the community and organizing focus groups etc. Congratulations Devinder!

SURREY- Thousands of people attended PICS 8th Annual Mega Job fair and BC Small Business Expo at Aria Banquet Hall in Surrey, Thursday September 24, 2015. These job seekers were extremely successful in making connections with at least 70 exhibitors who were on their toes all day explaining their businesses, interviewing and accepting resumes.

Punjab’s minister for Rural Development and Panchayat visited PICS head offices and PICS Seniors Home on July 14, 2015. Mr. Maluka is on an official visit on behalf of the Government of Punjab (India) to closely observe Canada’s agricultural, social services and administrative systems.
